Never Sleeps Less City(Famous Jigarthanda)
Madurai city is often referred to as ‘Thoonga Nagaram’, meaning the city that never sleeps. And, thanks to the unscheduled water supply timing, the Madurai Corporation has literally vindicated this saying. Water is supplied as early as 3am in some of the areas and as late as 11pm thus making the residents burn the midnight oil to get their share. While the residents are yet to come out of the shocker from Madurai Corporation, which suspended alternative drinking water supply, to once in four days, residents in some areas are forced to keep vigil at night to get the water.
